Where are we?
We are located in the North Island of New Zealand in Glen Massey village, which has a population of 185 people. We are just nine kilometres away from Ngaruawahia which is a town of about 8000 people.
The Hamilton City (northern boundary)is about 20 minutes away while Auckland is about 1.5 hours north on State Highway 1
A school bus brings students from Ngaruawahia and the rural area around our school. The rest of our students come from the local village.
Glen Massey is a rural village 9 km west of Ngaruawahia on the Waingaro Road. Historically a coal-mining village, it has shrunk considerably since mining ceased in the 1950s. There are currently about 65 houses in the village
The school is seen as the focal point of the village and has an eye-catching advantage point on the road. Because there are no parks in the area, the grounds are used as a playground by children of local families out of school operating hours.
